NKA UFORO IBAN visit to the Motherless Home Orphanage

After 11 years of existence, the Mother Charles Walker Children’s Home has cared for about One Hundred Twenty (120) children, some having been reunited with their biological families. Currently, forty six (46); children are now left with the Mother Charles Walker Children’s Home hoping their families will one day pick them up, or they will have a foster parent!

With such huge numbers the existing facility is stretched, being an old Convent that accommodated only three reverend sisters. Due to new intake (especially babies) that are brought to The Mother Charles Walker Children’s Home.

These are the children that make up the Mother Charles Walker Children's Home.  They are brought to the Home by good Samaritans who find them sometimes abandoned and in very bad state; the Mother Charles Walker Children's Home rescues and accommodates them.  Some are picked up from bus stops; while others are babies who have lost their mothers during child-birth in the hospital which is very close to the Home. Some of these children are those whose parents are mentally ill.

THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT NEEDED IS ABOUT SEVENTY MILLION NAIRA (70,000,000)
